Understand the Myth within Yourself | The School of Shamanic Initiation

Mythology is a very interesting concept that can help us understand who we are and why certain things may happen to us in our lives. Mythology deals with deep concepts such as archetypes and ancient tales told by different cultures around the world. We all have one or more mythologies inside us whether it's from religion, culture, society, family etc... When you take into account these various aspects that form your overall worldview, then the resulting "myth" becomes an extremely powerful tool for understanding yourself better.

Personal Mythology does not mean looking at fairy tale stories but rather using those ideas as examples to explain how they work within ourselves on a much deeper level than just mere intellectual  understanding. Direct Experience helps you heal yourself by connecting with your deeper self and giving you the opportunity to create an entirely new personal mythology that will help you find more empowerment, love and connection in this time line you have chosen to be.

You can start creating and writing a new myth for yourself right now! Remember it doesn't have to be complicated or take years of study. It's about finding the elements of magic within different cultures and stories that connect with your current beliefs and behaviors in order to form something brand new. You are unique so what may work for someone else might not necessarily do anything for you but if you experiment enough then magical things could happen.

The purpose is not only understanding ourselves better through our guiding myths but also making sure they serve us on a daily basis rather than holding us back from who we truly are. Life as an Initiation,  just another way of using your imagination to live a more fulfilling life where you can feel free, understood and supported on all levels of being. Archetypes have been used for thousands of years in storytelling as they represent many common human experiences so it's worth looking back into ancient tales if only to understand better our own personal mythologies within ourselves.

For example, the hero or main character always goes through certain stages before reaching their final goal which are often represented by archetypal characters such as mother/fathers, mentors etc... These stories reflect universal truths that resonate with us because deep down inside them lies some element that everyone shares at least one part of themselves.

We shouldn't fear our own personal journey, an Initiation of many of them. Instead embrace it as a fascinating way of understanding ourselves better. This journey helps us grow and heal. The hero's journey no different as the shamans journey, is important because everyone has one inside them whether they are aware of it or not! The Shamans journey connects the deeper aspects within you to your conscious self in order to bring growth that can be applied on all levels in your day to day.

Understand your  personal myths, how we create and write new ones, what they mean for us in this your life time.
